Spreading Behavior of Single Oil Droplet Impacting Surface with/without a Thin Liquid Film

چکیده

When oil droplets impact a solid surface for oil-air lubrication, they may spread out to produce thin layer on the surface, which serves as significant source of lubrication. A test rig was constructed in this research observe spreading behavior impacting surfaces from both frontal and lateral views. From view, laser-induced fluorescence techniques are used measure thickness quantitatively during droplets. While view can shape evolution Oil droplet patterns sheet with dry different liquid film thicknesses were studied, effect viscosity radius is considered. The experimental findings demonstrate that maximum factor, central thickness, apparentness retraction all increase increases. obviously impacted by films, weakens

Surfactant spreading on a thin liquid film: reconcilingmodels and experiments

The spreading dynamics of surfactant molecules on a thin fluid layer is of both fundamental and practical interest. A mathematical model formulated by Gaver and Grotberg [J Fluid Mech 235:399–414, 1992] describing the spreading of a single layer of insoluble surfactant has become widely accepted, and several experiments on axisymmetric spreading have confirmed its predictions for both the heigh...

Effects of Liquid and Surface Properties on Droplet-Film Collision

The transition boundaries of various regimes characterizing the impact outcomes of a droplet upon a liquid layer of small thickness were investigated experimentally. With careful control of the film thickness, the onset of the regimes versus a Weber number, We, specifically when the film size is smaller than the droplet diameter, has been further clarified as compared to prior studies. Several ...

Effect of Surface Roughness on Single Cryogen Droplet Spreading

Cryogen spray cooling (CSC) is an auxiliary procedure to dermatologic laser surgery which consists of pre-cooling the superficial skin layer (epidermis) during laser irradiation of subsurface targets to avoid non-specific epidermal thermal damage. While previous studies have investigated the interaction of cryogen sprays with microscopically smooth human skin models, it is important to recogniz...

Unsteady spreading of thin liquid films with small surface tension

The method of matched asymptotic expansions is used to solve for the free surface of a thin liquid drop draining down a vertical wall under gravity. The analysis is based on the smallness of the surface tension term in the lubrication equation. In a region local to the front of the drop, where the surface curvature is large, surface tension forces are significant. Everywhere else, the surface c...

The absorbance of the a band increased until the BET monolayer capacity of 1.1 mmol g-' was reached but stayed constant above this water content. The reason for this result could be that these free OH groups exist only on the surface of adsorbed layers or may remain inside the layer without hydrogen bon...
